Isolated in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, Azores offers unique underwater scenarios and abundant marine life with great diversity of dive sites that offers steep walls, gentle slopes, volcanic arches, seamounts, caves and islets make the underwater scenarios diverse and unique.
The marine life in the Azores is diverse and abundant with some colorful subtropical fish species. Pelagic fishes like tuna, barracudas, jacks, sardines. Fortunately, the Azores are in the migration pathway of some oceanic shark species that cruise the North Atlantic, such as the blue shark (Prionace glauca) and the shortfin mako shark (Isurus oxyrinchus).
